Bobi Wine also known as Robert Kyagulanyi, has called upon his supporters and asked them to remain calm following his release from Kira police station this morning.
Bobi claims he had talked with the Electoral Commission and police as regards the venue of his final rally but surprising he was taken into custody while campaigning in Kasangati.
According to Bobi, the reason behind his arrest was because his rally was close to that of the NRM flagbearer SItenda Sebalu where the president himself was to attend. Therefore, Bobi was reportedly asked to change venue.
As such, Bobi Wine and co agreed to hold their final rally at Bulamu in Gayaza “in order not to cause a presidential embarrassment”.
Based on the reports by New Vision, this is what Bobi Wine had to say after his release;
“I don’t want to be a remembered as a violent man. The campaigns have been peaceful. I want my supporters to remain calm,” he urged in a vibrant tone.
“One thing you can’t change is change. They arrested me and now they have released me,” said Bobi Wine, drawing huge applause from his supporters who thereafter made way for him to his waiting campaign vehicle.
Some are claiming that this was just form of malice to try and bring down the Ghetto president and ruin his campaign.
Does Robert Kyagulanyi stand a chance against his tough competition from the likes of Sitenda Sebalu, Apollo Kantinti and Nkunyingi Muwada? Let’s wait and see.
