Hasifa, a strong and talented babe from the Kawempe Muslim SS FC, surprised the audience after she won the award for 2016’s female MVP.
Ugandan players in both male & female category managed to snatch the most valuable player awards at the annual FUFA Awards Dinner at the Victoria Hall, Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo on Friday.
The winners were Onduparaka’ FC captain Shaban Mohammad and Kawempe Muslim SS FC striker Hasifa Nassuuna who walked away with big smiles on their faces.
Its good to see that FUFA is acknowledging the women’s football league and also putting emphasis on awarding those that display exceptional talent.

Female: Hasifa Nassuuna (Kawempe Muslim S.S)
Coach of the Year: Mike Mutebi

Mathias Muwanga (GK), Denis Okot, Joseph Ochaya, Musa Walangalira, Halid Lwaliwa, Ibrahim Kayiwa, Muzamir Mutyaba, Keziron Kizito, Robert Sentongo, Shaban Mohammad and Erisa Ssekisambu.
Beach Soccer Player of the year: Roch Somoka (Nkumba Select)
Fair Play Award: Vipers Sports Club
Referee of the year: Ivan Kintu Bayige (FIFA Beach Soccer Referee)
FUFA Presidential Award: Ali Tomusange (Retired FIFA Referee who officiated at the 2002 World Cup)
Fans favorite player of the year (Ugandan): Faruku Miya (Standard Liege)
Fans favorite player of the year (Non Ugandan): Muhammed Salah (AS Roma)
Shaban’s win was also a shock compared to the competition he was against in the likes of Standard Liege’s Faruku Miya, Vipers SC striker Erisa Ssekisambu and KCCA’s reigning Uganda Premier League MVP Joseph Ochaya.
