She Cranes Win the Africa Netball Championship

Uganda’s all female netball team made history as it was the first host nation of it’s kind in the Africa Netball Championship to win the continental event unbeaten.

Uganda beat Zambia 67-50 in their last fixture at the six-day event to win their title at the biennial event that ended at the indoor arena, Lugogo.

The team showed off its might against it’s opponents as it went five-fixture matches unbeaten. The She Cranes beat Botswana, Malawi, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

The netball team did us proud with it’s creative play and strong team spirit. Key players like Peace Proscovia, a good shooter who plays professional at Loughborough Lightning in England, was the highlight of the day.
