Oktoberfest, one of the world’s biggest beer festivals that brings all kinds of food cuisines, beer and fun is back for its fourth edition in Kampala this coming September 29.
This year’s Oktoberfest edition aims to celebrate women with its theme, “Divas Edition” which will be an all-female line-up headlined by Cindy Sanyu and Naava Grey.
The annual event seeks to build and strengthen cultural relationships between Germans and Ugandans with its mix of blended food cuisines and inter-cultural activities such as costume competitions overseen by a team of judges headed by former German Ambassador Klaus Holderbaum.
There will also be traditional Oktoberfest games such as a beer straw challenge, tug-of-war, beer pong, arm wrestling, Stein (beer glass) hoisting challenge, eating challenge, beer speed drinking.
The annual event will be held at the Uganda Museum Gardens and will have performances from artists like Cindy Sanyu, Naava Grey, Siima Sabiti, Afrie and a DJ showcase featuring DJ Mary Joe and DJ Xzyl.
Tickets for Oktoberfest 2018 are available on discount when purchased using Visa card or Mastercard under the Blue Weekends promotion with Stanbic Bank. For those paying cash, tickets will be sold at only Shs20,000. Gates open at noon.
