Ariana Grande took the world by storm with her album, ‘Sweetener’ after it topped as the number one album on the Billboard 200 chart this week.
The set which was released on August 17 via Republic Records, started with 231,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Aug. 23, with 127,000 of those being traditional album sales according to Nielsen Music.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units.
Sweetener is Grande’s third album to hit the number one spot on Billboard 200. Of all the four albums released by Ariana, ‘My Everything’ (Sept. 13, 2014) and ‘Yours Truly’ (Sept. 21, 2013) were the only ones to hit No. 1.
As for her third release, Dangerous Woman. It missed the top spot and peaked at No. 2 on June 11, 2016.
