This has been an eventful week, after the emotional farewell speech from President Barack Obama as he leaves the US Presidency for the incoming president elect Donald Trump, several gaffe memes went around the internet poking at President Obama for saying his wife, Michelle was his best friend throughout his service and still is. Many of the memes showed a shocked and disappointed emotional Joe Biden.
President Barack Obama paid tribute to Joe Biden in a surprise ceremony at the White House on Thursday, where he awarded the vice president the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour. Joe Biden was tearful and overcome with emotion as Obama placed the medal around his neck and the two leaders embraced.
Obama told Biden he was giving him the award for his faith in fellow Americans, love of country and a lifetime of service that will endure through the generations.”
The mood at the ceremony was very emotional, but Obama managed joked about Joe Biden’s famous aviators, his fondness for Amtrak and the word “literally.”

To put the relationship of President Obama and Joe Biden into perspective, you would have to recall Obama’s campaign to be America’s first black president and how Joe Biden coming on board as his future Vice President really gave him the extra boost he needed and also tried to balance his support from the white communities in the US.
Ever since President Obama won, Biden and him have been seen an awful lot together. A sight which intensified in the Obama’s second term when he lost his son, Beau to brain cancer. President Obama was there for Biden and his family every step of the way, this to Biden was the darkest moment of his life.
It is no shock that in his speech, Biden mentioned this. This probably brought them closer than ever and cultivated a bond that goes beyond a cordial friendship to probably brotherhood.
“Mr President, I am indebted to you. I am indebted you and your family. You know as long as there’s breath in me, I’ll be there for you and your whole family and I know it is reciprocal. Thank you all so very, very, very much,” Joe Biden went on to add.
Joe Biden might be the best Vice President in American history, so much that even most Republicans loved him.
