Google isn’t waiting around the corner for its competitors to get ahead of the Emoji wars with recent reports suggesting that Android Q will getting 65 new emojis.
The number of emojis continues to expand around the world and we expect it to even grow much higher and now Google has announced that its releasing more to Android soon.
The tech giant announced that it’s bringing 65 new emoji to Android as part of World Emoji Day with notable changes and additions that include a sloth, otter, diya lamp, garlic, waffles, service dogs, an orangutan, and a skunk to mention but a few.

Google says it’s also included 53 gender inclusive designs for emoji where Unicode hasn’t specified a gender.
“For example, the emoji for ‘police officer’ is commonly shown as male and ‘person getting haircut’ is female, which can reinforce gender stereotypes,” Google explained in its press release.
“With this update, emoji with no gender specified will default to a gender ambiguous design on Android—but you can still choose between male and female presentations if want to opt into a gender.”
According to reports, the Mountain View company is also bringing 71 multi-skintoned couples to the latest set. All of these new additions and tweaked designs will officially be available in Android Q.
